Homemade Coconut Mango Baby Yogurt Melts (2024)

This recipe, Homemade Coconut Mango Baby Yogurt Melts, was created in partnership with Stonyfield Organic and Once Upon a Farm. Thank you for helping me support these sustainable brands that are better for our babies and better for our planet.

I’m starting to think I should change the name of this website to Because I Said So, Baby…And Yogurt Recipes. You might remember our popular recipe (which has been shared on Pinterest over 15k times!), and these No-Bake Pumpkin Pie Fro-Yo Bites which are a seasonal fav. And those are just a few of the healthy recipes featuring yogurt on our site.

Yogurt is simply a go-to for busy moms because it’s convenient, it’s got the healthy fats our little one’s need, and it’s easy to customize.

Tell me if this exchange sounds famililar:

Toddler: I’m hungry

Mom:You can have some yogurt

I probably have this conversation with my toddler around 10AM & 4PM on a daily basis. I always feel good about giving her yogurt no matter what time of day it is. My own personal requirements are:→Grassfed or Organic→No Added Sugar→Delicious.

In this post on easy first food ideas for baby, I shared some simple combos to “mash” into plain yogurt, like banana, sweet potato, and applesauce. Both kids love these yogurt mash-ups, but when I’m short on time, I grab Stonyfield’s YoBaby 6 pack of Banana & Mango yogurt, which is now made without added sugar (so it’s just like homemade)and it’s the # 1 pediatrician recommended yogurt for babies and kids.

When I was growing up my mom used to buy Stonyfield’s “Banilla” Yogurt and top it with fresh slices of banana and granola and it was probably my favorite breakfast (hi, mom!). So it feels very full circle to feed my own children their YoBaby Banana yogurt. Sorry to get all touchy-feely, but I just had to share!

Also, have you heard of these new pouches from Once Upon a Farm? True story: I actually had to hide these in the back of the fridge until I was able to snap some pictures for this post, because if either of my children (2 1/2 and 10 months), even sees something resembling a pouch, they will eat approximately all of them.

I think I may just buy stock in pouches, because I’m fairly certain my husband’s entire paycheck actually just goes to keeping the fridge stocked with these things.

Like yogurt, these cold-pressed organic blends are the perfect healthy & nutritious snack for babies & toddlers. They’re tasty on their own (oh yeah, I snuck some…don’t tell my toddler), and amazing when mixed into some baby yogurt melts – like in this recipe!

P.S. – these baby yogurt melts are the perfect first food for baby-led weaning. You can learn how to use the baby-led weaning method, here.

Ingredients

Instructions

How to Make Coconut Mango Baby Yogurt Melts

Make the Mixture:

  • In a medium bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, YoBaby yogurt, and squeeze in the contents of the pouch
  • Gently mix together using a rubber spatula
  • Place the bowl in the fridge to chill the mixture for about 30 minutes

Make the Coconut Mango Baby Yogurt Melts:

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
  • Place a heavy duty ziploc bag inside a large coffee mug (see photo below)
  • Spoon half of the yogurt mixture into the bag
  • Lift the bag out of the mug and push all of the mixture to one corner
  • Using a scissor, snip a tiny hole in the corner (where the yogurt mixture is)
  • Gently squeeze the yogurt out of the bag into little dots on the parchment paper – repeat until the baking sheet is full
  • Place baking sheet into the freezer, until yogurt melts are set, about 2-3 hours.
  • Repeat process with the rest of the yogurt mixture

To Store the Yogurt Melts:

  • Have a gallon-size freezer storage bag ready
  • Remove the baking sheet from the freezer, and working quickly, lift the yogurt melts from the parchment (try to place your hands underneath the parchment paper and use the paper itself to lift them off, as the heat from your hands can cause them to melt)
  • Once the bag is full, squeeze the air out of the bag, seal up, and freeze!
  • These will keep in the freezer for about a month

Notes:

  • Since the YoBaby 6-pack comes with 3 Banana and 3 Mango, you can easily swap in a container of the banana yogurt in this recipe to make Banana Yogurt Melts!
  • If you don’t have a Once Upon a Farm pouch but still want to make the yogurt melts, you can leave it out altogether (although it truly adds amazing flavor and color!) or you can try blending some frozen mangoes and coconutmilk in a food processor to add to the yogurt mixture. I personally haven’t tried this, but either way, your baby or toddler will still love these!
  • The first couple of drops that come out of the piping bag may be more runny, but as you continue to pipe, you should find that the mixture is a little easier to work with. If you feel that it’s too runny, you can always fold in more Greek yogurt.
  • The YoBaby containers are now made from PLA (plant-based materials), which is better for baby and the environment!

Other Ideas:

  • Coconut Mango Yogurt Bark:Line an 8×8 baking pan with parchment paper. Pour in the yogurt mixture. Top with sliced banana and unsweetend shredded coconut. Freeze until set. Break up into pieces using the parchment paper. Store in freezer bag.
  • Coconut Mango Popsicles:Pour yogurt mixture into baby-friendly popsicle molds. Freeze until set.
  • Coconut Mango Yogurt Squeeze: Pour yogurt mixture into reusable squeeze pouches.Store in fridge.
  • Coconut Mango Fro-Yo Bites:Follow the instructions in this recipe, and sub in the coconut mango mixture for the pumpkin spice yogurt.
